Book Summary: One night can change everything. ‘I know it as soon as I wake up and open my eyes… Something is wrong.’ Her Saturday night started normally. Recently separated from her husband, Ali has been persuaded by her friends to go on a date with a new man. She is ready, she is nervous, she is excited. She is about to take a step into her new future. By Sunday morning, Ali’s life is unrecognisable. She wakes, and she knows that something is wrong. She is home, she is alone, she is hurt and she has no memory of what happened to her. Worse still, when she looks in the mirror, Ali doesn’t recognise the face staring back at her…

My Review: Can you imagine waking up and not being able to recognize anyone you know? I sure can’t. It’s a traumatic diagnosis that would surely change any life. For Ali, in just one night, everything turned upside down. And the sad part is, she’s in danger and she can’t remember why! I mean if this doesn’t sound like a perfect formula for an addictive thriller, than I don’t know what is.

Ali’s emotional turbulence towards her separation was relatable. One day you’re happy and married and the next you’re separated and confused. On top of all that, she is dealing with a stalker and trying to piece together parts to an unfamiliar night.

Louise did a superb job in giving all the secondary characters meaning as well. I was constantly suspicious and paranoid as to who was trustworthy in Ali’s circle. By the end, I was so flabbergasted that I yelped, “no fucking way!” I was not expecting the outcome at all. It made me want to shake the person involved in Ali’s horrible nightmare.

The Date was a well-written story that kept me wanting more as it escalated. Louise’s mysterious plot grabbed my attention and didn’t let go until all the answers were revealed. I highly recommend this thriller if you’re looking for a fast paced novel that’ll hit all the right buttons!

My Rating: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Dead Ringer sounds thrilling! The Gemini killer huh? How cool is that serial killer name. And no, it’s not because I’m a Gemini, okay maybe just a little. 😆

It comes out right around Halloween, definitely a book that’ll be great to read around that time.

Now, another twin has been taken, and when the case reopens, Rachel is assigned as an agent. But her relentless hunt for the killer may drive her to her breaking point.

Did you ever want to get to know the author behind these amazing books we read? Well, look no further! On today’s Author Chit Chat, it’s my honor to introduce Liz Fenton and Lisa Steinke. You all have heard of Girl’s Night Out by now and let me tell you I loved every inch of that book. These two beauties sure do know how to capture a reader!

1) Congrats on your recent release! What inspired you to write Girl’s Night Out?

Thank you! We were inspired by our own long-term friendships. They are so layered and complicated, but so wonderful at the same time.

51YHLUQuMBL
2) When you first saw the cover for Girl’s Night Out, what were your initial thoughts?

They had sent us three mock-ups. When we saw the one with the cenote, we instantly knew it was THE ONE.

3) If you could re-name your book title, whatwould you choose?

None! We came up with the name before we even started writing it, so we are very attached!

4) Did you always want to be writers or did you have other aspirations as well?

We both had other careers as we established ourselves as writers. Lisa, as a television talk show producer, and Liz in the pharmaceutical industry. Now we both write full-time.

5) I love your BFF dynamic, how long have you been friends and how did you meet?

We met our freshman year of high school, over thirty years ago! Lisa walked into Liz’s English class, and the rest is history! We also attended the same university and lived together. And joined the same sorority. And had the same major….

6) Did you two ever disagree on anything while writing this novel?

We did have some major problems while writing Girls’ Night Out, but not about the writing, per se. It was more about our dynamic as business partners and friends, and how that had evolved. We talk about the conflict in the acknowledgments section of the book.

7) Last but not least, do you have anything you’d like to say to your current and future readers?

Thank you so, so much for all your support! We are so grateful for each and every one of you!

THANK YOU SO MUCH LIZ AND LISA FOR THIS FANTASTIC INTERVIEW!

The Drowning by J.P. Smith, is officially on my radar. Who is taking the boys every year? Where is Joey? What kind of asshole counselor leaves a child in the middle of a lake on a raft? I need answers pronto! Unfortunately, I have to wait until January 2019.

Who else needs this book like yesterday?

Book Summary:

Every seven years, a boy disappears from Camp Waukeelo.

Who will be next?

It doesn’t take long for a little boy to disappear. Joey Proctor can’t swim, but that doesn’t stop camp counselor Alex Mason from leaving him out on a raft in the middle of the lake in a fit of rage. Alex only meant to scare the kid, teach him a lesson. He didn’t mean to forget about him. But now Joey is gone… and his body is never found.

More than twenty years later, Alex is a success. The proof is there for anyone to see, in the millions of dollars he makes, his lavish house, his beautiful wife and daughters. And no one knows what happened that summer at camp. At least, no one should know. But it looks like Joey Proctor may be back to take his revenge…

Book Review: Three Days Missing by Kimberly Belle

A1a8jCWu37L

Three Days Missing by Kimberly Belle
Reading Level: Psychological Thriller
Release Date: June 26, 2018
Publisher: Park Row Books / Harlequin
Pages: 352

Summary: When a child goes missing, two mothers’ lives collide in a shocking way in this suspenseful novel from the bestselling author of The Marriage Lie.

It’s every parent’s worst nightmare: the call that comes in the middle of the night. When Kat Jenkins awakens to the police on her doorstep, her greatest fear is realized. Her nine-year-old son, Ethan, is missing—vanished from the cabin where he’d been on an overnight class trip. Shocked and distraught, Kat rushes to the campground, but she’s too late; the authorities have returned from their search empty-handed after losing Ethan’s trail in the mountain forest.

Another mother from the school, Stef Huntington, seems like she has it all: money, prominence in the community, a popular son and a loving husband. She hardly knows Kat, except for the vicious gossip that swirls around Kat’s traumatic past. But as the police investigation unfolds, Ethan’s disappearance has earth-shattering consequences for Stef, as her path crosses with Kat. As the two mothers race against the clock, their desperate search for answers reveals how the greatest dangers lie behind the everyday smiles of those they trust the most.

My Review: As a mother, Three Days Missing grabbed on to my heartstrings and didn’t let go until the very end. I cannot imagine, sending my son off to a school trip, where he mysteriously goes missing. It’s a parents biggest nightmare!

The protagonist Kat, had such a raw quality about her. I found a connection with her quickly and felt her every emotion throughout the chapters. I really enjoyed how Kimberly established the importance of every character. Each individual played a role in the developing story and I was on the edge of my seat to find out what happened to Ethan.

I loved how the intensity and nail-biting anticipation was consistent. Never a dull moment! The suspense behind every encounter, left you calculating if it had a part in the disappearance. The ending was exciting and it threw me for a loop that I wasn’t expecting.

Overall, a great thriller that’ll keep you on your toes. If you are looking for a suspenseful read that strays away from the typical murder or serial killer theme, then Three Days Missing is the way to go!

Happy Sunday folks! It’s been a while since a YA book caught my attention. #Murdertrending sounds just like the type of book to get me back into this genre.

In this story, citizens get to watch criminals get murdered live. But, what happens if you are wrongfully accused? I can imagine the lengths someone has to go to, in order to save themselves. Sounds dark and intense. Yes please!

Who wants to read #Murdertrending as well? And if you read it already, tell me your thoughts.

@morrisdavis72195: I hope she meets justice! She’ll get what’s coming to her! BWAHAHA!

@EltonJohnForevzz: Me? I think Dee’s innocent. And I hope she can survive.

Can Dee and her newly formed posse, the Death Row Breakfast Club, prove she’s innocent before she ends up wrongfully murdered for the world to see?
